Hi,
The nurse orders the ABG's in OE which then notifies Respiratory. In the
past, resp techs drew them and brought them to the lab to run and
result. Now resp techs have point of care analyzers they run and result
(Abbott I-stat).

Subject: [MEDITECH-L] Respiratory Therapy

Hello all,
We are Magic 5.4 (soon to be 5.6). I would welcome any information on
how you have set up Respiratory Therapy in Lab.
Are the nurses ordering ABGs in OE? If so, where do the labels print?
Do you use collection batches? How much demographic/sample information
is included on your ABG report? Where are the ABG analyzers (in the main
lab or in separate area) and who is running the specimens? Just some of
the topics I would love information on. We have 2 Rapid Point 405
instruments and the uni-directional interface with Meditech is working
fine.
Thanks in advance for your help and feedback...
Kathy
