Since the colors are determined by windows settings isn't this a complaint for Microsoft? Or is it perhaps the font that is the real complaint?
>>> "Walecka, Wendy" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> 04/27/07 3:37 PM >>> Hi Scott, We had some general complaints about eyestrain. We were told all along that there was going to be some measure of color customization in 5.6, but I cannot say I have seen much of it. I know the NUR status board and EMAR have a few more colors. And the new version of the EMAR, which was not quite ready for primetime when we got 5.6 into TEST, was totally revamped with more colors. We were very disappointed to know we were not going to have that available to us as we expected and I'm not sure when it will be ready. However, you can customize the Windows color settings for a little more variation. I particularly like the Rose or Plum color schemes. One thing to keep in mind is that the following applications require the NUI if you intend to upgrade to 5.4, 5.5, or 5.6: ABS (Utilization Review Routines) BMV (Bedside Med Verification) EDM (Emer Dept Mgmt) NUR (Status Board/Process Flowsheet enhancements) OR (OR Management) SCA (Scanning/Archiving) RM/QM (Risk Mgt/QM) PCM SUITE (We don't have any of these) MPM SUITE (OP Scheduling Module) (Phys/Bill Rcv/PBR - LSS Billing) ITS (Imaging & Ther Svcs - which we do not have) eMAR Desktop (PHA/NUR) Windows Resolution 1024x768 Workstation size - Medium OE (Order Set Dictionary) We learned this as we were preparing to go live with 5.61, and we just did yesterday, so things are still shaking out. And we still have some diehard 3x workstation users. I started in my position about a year and a half ago and we have been promising the old version is going away and it still has not. I hope this helps. Thanks! "We are in the process of having our users test Meditech's NUI 4.20 with the anticipation of removing the old 3.x version in the next few months. Most of the complaints we are receiving are related to the colors of the menus and lookups. Users are complaining of eye strain and headaches because things just don't stand out like the colors provided in the older versions. Can anyone tell us if you experienced the same problems and how you handeled it with your users?"
