We are taking 5.54 PP8, just had initial test ring set up yesterday, and
tomorrow we have the SCA assessment visit. We are at 5.5.1, so couldn't
implement SCA until we took an update, and as of January 07 were told
must be at least 5.5.2. We wanted to take more of an update than one
ring release, so we fast forwarded our planned August 5.54 test
implementation date to May, so we could move forward with SCA. Live for
SCA tentatively planned for Nov 1. Meditech provides all the specs
for hardware needs.

Our initial push is to have point of contact scanning in place early on
for scanning of critical information real-time into the EMR. We are
only at the beginning phase, so certainly not a resource for anyone
else. Next fall we may be.

        Hi,

We would also be interested in participating in this call as
well. We are also looking into implementing SCA, and have many
questions:-)

        HI everyone,

I am interested in your implementations as we are also looking
at Scanning and Archiving. Can you tell me, are any of your sites
running on a Citrix environment and to what extent have you
implemented. Are you jus tdoing point of contact scanning or are you
doing a full implementation. I would be interesested in having a
discussion with you to find out more. If you wouldn't mind sharing your
phone number I could give you a call.

        Thanks

        Marlene Young

We are also going through the Scanning and Archiving
implementation with an October go-live and just got hit with the
bomb-shell that Meditech recommends upgrading to 5.5.SR4 before
implementing scanning and archiving. They just changed their position
on this about a month ago. At first we were told 5.5.SR2 would just
require a "top off". There are over 3,000 DTS's to test to get from SR2
to SR4 - so this will definitely delay our implementation.

Regarding hardware - we have a legacy scanning system, so we're
hopeful our existing twain compliant scanners will work with Meditech.
We have HP-3015's in registration (approx $300), Fujitsu 5120's (approx
$1,000) and the Fujitsu 5650C for HIM (approx $5,000).

We are looking to implement Scanning and Archiving soon and I
was hoping I could get some recommendations on the actual scanners that
other facilities have been using successfully. Also, if you have any
feedback for the server or anything else I would appreciate it. We are
Client Server 5.5 2. Thanks,
