We are considering Meditech's Scanning and Archiving Module for purchase - We
are a CS 5.5 r2 site and we are really more interested in the Archiving piece
of this module because We already have another system that we scan all of your
registration information into. Unfortunately Meditech only sells these two
products bundled.. There is not an interest in scanning in our HIM charts
because this is a very labor intensive project. Our current plan will be to
bring up PCS which will put our Nursing and Ancillary departments online and
then follow with PCM to bring up the physician piece which would then complete
our documentation to be all online. We would need to institute an Archiving
piece in between these two so that we can finally say do not PRINT out the
record access it on line and only HIM staff would need to print for a
correspondence request . (That's our vision/dream - I know it is a big one
with lots of speed bumps and road blocks)

I have scheduled a demo with Meditech regarding this module but I would like
some feed back as to how the ARCHIVING piece really works. What reports are
set up to archived and can you trigger NPR's to be archived as well. I have
ask Meditech for this list but do date have not seen it. What do your purge
parameters need to be set at. Do you have all of your module parameters set up
the same? Any help would be greatly appreciated and if anyone would like to
share their implementation pains and gains that would be greatly appreciated as
well. Thanks in advance for any responses.
