JOB TITLE: CLINICAL SYSTEMS ANALYST
* Department: Information Systems
* Reports to: Applications Director
* Status: Regular, Full-time
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Coordinate I.S. department clinical projects with management,
users, staff and vendors. Serve as project leader, with overall responsibility
for project installation and implementation. Formulate system scope, analysis
and design objectives, configure vendor maintained systems and develop and/or
modify in-house systems. Prepare project deliverables, and detailed
specifications from which vendor systems will be programmed/configured.
Responsibilities include project analysis, planning and implementation, along
with the daily operational activities and problem resolution. Develop clinical
policies and procedures in conjunction with users, staff and when necessary
vendors. Prepare training materials, coordinate meetings and document
decisions. Monitor assigned project team performance and report outcomes
relative to established project goals/measurements.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Coordinate the implementation of new clinical processes and systems
* Coordinate installed system upgrades and
* Provide support of clinical modules across multiple hospital locations
* Assist in the development of policies and procedures
* Recommend and coordinate maintenance and enhancements
* Work with vendors and users to resolve system issues
* Plan, document, and provide user training
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

* Ability to keep the primary goals and objectives of the information

* Highly functional and well-demonstrated process skills for the
successful creation of work plans and action plans; to track and report
progress against documented goals and objectives; to conduct research; and to
provide analysis as required on initiatives or proposals
* Ability to clearly document and present persuasive arguments for the
implementation of initiatives and/or proposals
* A demonstrated customer-service orientation, seeking to know customer
requirements and exercising independent judgment in meeting customer
expectations
* Committed to continuous quality improvement in systems, processes and
performance; consistently exercises a learning attitude and approach to all
duties
* Superior communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability
to successfully negotiate, facilitate, and implement positive outcomes in all
situations
* Possess and exercise a strong sense of ethics and confidentiality
* Demonstrated flexibility in project and initiative management, ensuring
the timely completion of required work in conjunction with constantly moving
deadlines and multiple priorities. Ability to exercise judgment and proportion
in managing assigned activities
* Ability to manage and supervise other support staff, as needed
(including those not directly in a line relationship), in service to customer
needs and department mission and objectives
* Ability to work both independently as well as with employees and
executives at multiple levels in the organization
* Advanced operational knowledge of software packages, including (but not
limited to) Internet browser software, presentation software, data base
software, spreadsheet software, word processing software, and electronic mail
* Experience with, or willingness and ability to learn and use,
project-management software (such as Microsoft Project)
* Participate appropriately and creatively in the solution to job-related
problems
* Demonstrates professional demeanor and appearance
* Ability to travel as needed in support of the clinical efforts of
Organization
* Performance of the above responsibilities within agreed-upon schedules
and deadlines
* Excellent knowledge of organization a plus

Specific Qualifications:
* Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Healthcare
Administration, Business, Nursing, or equivalent combination of experience and
education
* Minimum of 5 years hands-on implementation, application support, and
training experience with MEDITECH clinical modules
* Preferred: RN or other Clinical background.
* An understanding of the operating environment of organization,
particularly that dealing with information security and protected health
information
* Knowledge and experience in information security laws, access, release
of information, and release control technologies
* Knowledge in and the ability to apply the principles of project
management, and change management
* Strong verbal and written skills ability in order to articulate,
demonstrate and present proposals/solutions for our users
* Must have core values e.g., Respect for others, Timely, Proactive,
Responsive and Follow through on deliverables
* Must work as a team player
* Candidates must be flexible and able to work in an environment with
changing priorities
