Hello,

We are scheduled to go live with 5.6 next week. Currently we are eMAR
and BMV. During our testing we realized that we can no longer zero dose
Compounded orders. This causes problems with orders that may have a
range in dose, for example 5-10 mls of Magic Mouthwash. Pharmacy is
required is enter a dose and nursing is required to document on that
same dose. There is no room for any range. According to Meditech:

"When documenting on these, with the Dose Warning CDP setting to Y, the
user would get
the message "Administration is less than amount ordered. Continue?" (or
"Warning: Ordered dose exceeded. Continue?" depending on the amounts)
and the
user can continue and enter in an override comment.

Compound orders were not designed to allow a zero dose amount, which is
why this
cannot be entered. If you need to enter a zero dose amount, it would
need to be
a regular Med order. Since this is not always possible, the Dose
Instructions
function was created, to allow more detailed information to be entered
which
would not be able to fit in the regular dose field, such as a range of
dose
amounts."

Basically Meditech is suggesting that we have our pharmacists enter an
incorrect dose and our nurses document on an incorrect dose.

Has anyone experienced this or found a better way to handle this type of
order?

Thank you,
