Thanks - I did get a reply that described the use of 1527 xx variables - quite astounding - so I would think that there is no limit. You are correct on the limitation mentioned below - and also on the way around this limitation - by calling additional fragments! Joe's solution is of course a correct one - however - this generally restricts variable text formatting (SIZE= and FONT=) in each particular field. I would use looping to fill the contents of the fields (for example) by having the field VALs be equal to /GR[1..n,1..n] where the first subscript would be 1-42 and the second subscript 1-8.
