An ECB-ECE loop might save you a lot of fields and a lot of report
building.
I have an example 365 day calendar in the MUSE tips and tricks from
2003, I think I used 56 fields to print an employee header, a month
header (for the 12 months in two columns), DOW headers, the day field, a
holiday field and a data field for each day.
The trick was to loop on the 6 "month pairs" (months are side by side)
then on the weeks, so you don't need to build all the boxes to hold all
your days.
If you put your data in an array in slash, your fields can print
different values as you loop. Simple example:
ECB=DO{+/DATA[WEEK]^WEEK ., xx.sun xx.mon xx.tues
ECE=.},
xx.sun
/DATA[WEEK]|0
xx.mon
/DATA[WEEK]|1

Has anyone run into an upper limit to the number of xx variables that
you can use in a custom report? If not - what is the maximum that you
have used? I know this sounds like my report design is not very good -
but imagine a calendar with 42 date cells and 8 lines per cell ...
