Happy Friday,

If no complaint specific instructions are selected, then no pages print when
the discharge packet is 'printed', including the signature page which we need
for all patients being discharged home. We have built generic 'discharge
instructions' and placed this on all chief complaints in order to have the
patient signature page always print in the discharge packet.

The problem is, if the patient leaves without being seen or is admitted, then
this generic 'discharge instructions' is sent to our electronic record, making
it appear that the patient received instructions even if they left without
being seen!

Has anyone else encountered this or found a solution for this??

Thanks for any help.
