With the help of a service tech, we also found the "secret" firmware margin settings for a Kyocera FS4000DN. More and more it seems like the capabilities exist on many printers. It's just a question of how far you have to dig and understanding the impact of the code settings. Rich McNeil MIS Project Leader Southcoast Hospitals Group New Bedford, MA 02770 508-910-3822

I have monitored these threads as we have yet to move to Laser printers for our UB printing but will soon. The key to alignment seems to be the ability to access the x and y coordinates for where printing starts. I spoke with a Dell printer technician who assures me this can be done. There is an undocumented setup menu accessed by holding two of the buttons on the face while powering up, which provides access to the necessary options. We will be receiving a printer next week and unfortunately I am on vacation for two weeks after that so it may be a while before I can get to it. If any of the rest of you feel like contacting Dell and beating me to this feel free. You do have to share the knowledge though...please! -- Bill Palmer Financial Coordinator, Information Sys Mid-Columbia Medical Center The Dalles, OR 97058 541-296-7417 >>> On 7/18/2007 at 1:19 PM, in message <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>, "McGaw, Douglas" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > There's been a lot of discussion on this thread, and - though we use > Dell printers - we had to suck it in and get an HP 4250 for this > purpose, as so many others have done.
