Pharmacy spils them here and there is a seperate entry in the drug formulary
for such meds(or we'll make note in dose instructions). We then package them
in unitdose form using Medidose 3000 or some such program. I think nursing
has enough to do than worry about splitting tabs, just my two cents.

Subject: [MEDITECH-L] Tablet splitting

In Meditech, how do you handle a dose that requires a tablet to be split
(1/2 tablet, ΒΌ tablet, etc.)? Does nursing split them on the floor or does
pharmacy split them prior to dispensing? If pharmacy splits the tablets, is
there a drug dictionary entry for each size of tablet? Are the split
tablets unit dosed?
