Good Afternoon,

Is anyone using the OE period and daily statistics? If you are using them this
is our issue. Pt admitted on, say 6/1/07 and discharged 6/3/07. For what ever
reason, the order for the EKG is omitted, even though the procedure is done.
Sometime after the patient is discharged, say on 7/8/07, the transcriptions,
trying to connect the departmental report to the order, finds no order. At
that point, we contact Meditech who changes the "REJECT DEPT ORDERS > # DAYS IN
THE PAST " parameter from 7 (our standard) to however long the period needs to
be to get the order placed. After the order is placed, Meditech is contacted
to change the parameter back to "7". This process is not nearly as smooth as I
make it sound right now and it alters daily statistics and period statistics.
If you have similar situations, how do you deal with that order? Do you change
the parameter? Do you change the "DAYS TO UPDATE STATS" parameter?

Thank you in advance
