Unless you add a LEN attribute, you get the data definition length of
the account number on reports, so you will only need to change the
reports that have an LEN attribute on the field.

Due to fabulous MT consistency, you need to look for @number,
@acct.number, @account.number and @exam.account (at least) but you
could write a report in NPR.REP that hunts down all reports with the
field and only gives you the ones that have an LEN attribute attached.

Subject: [MEDITECH-L] Increasing Account Number and Unit Number Length

We have recently realized that we will run out of account numbers within
the next 2-3 months, and so we need to increase the parameter for
account number length, rather quickly! However, we want to have a
decent plan in place before we do this. Below are the things we thought
of to change or check into before making this move. Is there anything
else we're missing? If you have gone through this, how did it go for
you? Anything we should watch out for? What departments did you need
to include in this project? Would you suggest increasing the length to
the maximum of 12, since you can only increase it once, or are there any
downfalls to that? (our length is 8 now)

Also we're thinking of increasing the unit number length at the same
time. Again, if you've gone through this, any tips?

To Do's:

*Change account number length in all NPR reports.

*Confirm new account length will fit on wristbands, labels, etc...

*Check/change custom orders - lab, rad, oe

*Verify all Interfaces (lab, PACS, Varian, etc)

*Check with Meditech - will this affect any customs we have in place?
*Check with LSS - how will they be affected (suspense file, customs,
etc)

Thanks in advance!!!

Kelly
