* Before you implemented this, were your physicians accustomed to
open access? How did they adjust to choosing a reason for viewing the record
if they are not the attending or admitting MD? The specialists that were
given self assign at our facility were happy to have access to the patients'
chart - WHEN they needed it - they got over the 'extra click'; prior to self
assign they would have to gain access to the chart via another user - nurse
etc., or wait for admissions to edit the registration.

* When setting up your providers - how did you handled Physicians
such as Radiologists or Anesthesiologists that not the attending or
admitting MD? Do they always receive the warning and select a reason for
viewing the record? The self assign works well for the specialists as they
have access to the patients that they need - they do always receive the
warning & select reason screen.

Subject: [MEDITECH-L] Self Assign in PCI

Hello,

We are looking to turn on the Self Assign in PCI for Providers. I have a
couple of questions for anyone out there currently using this feature:

* Before you implemented this, were your physicians accustomed to
open access? How did they adjust to choosing a reason for viewing the record
if they are not the attending or admitting MD?

* When setting up your providers - how did you handled Physicians
such as Radiologists or Anesthesiologists that not the attending or
admitting MD? Do they always receive the warning and select a reason for
viewing the record?

I appreciate any responses.
