Anyone have any thoughts on this ?
Anyone have any other ways of doing this ?

We have been experiencing many issues when it is necessary to transfer an
inpatient to a
surgical day care (SDC) status. We have no issues with an inpatient to
observation status
and vice versa as these changes can be processed via an alternative method.
However, we
have found that many facilities struggle with the fact that changing an
account from an
inpatient to an SDC status can only be accomplished via the Undo Events
routine in the
Admissions module. This is due to the fact that completing the Undo Events
routine brings
with it a negative impact on ancillary departments (most notably here,
Pharmacy, as
it cancels patient medication orders) as it totally cancels what certain
areas
have previously done on the inpatient account. Is this the only routine
available to utilize
in these instances? If so, what is the rationale behind it because
everything done on the
patient account up to the point that the status needs changed to SDC remains
so vital, and
the only desire in the end is to have the patient status changed from an
inpatient to an
SDC?
