One way to do this is via the LAB.L.SPEC header on page 2 of the LIS
Report format dictionary.

Meditech KB Article LAB #23428 explains how to modify the .std report
fragment to print the

most recent verify date/time on the report. *

It will show the Collection date, Recv date, and Verified date for each
specimen.

*note: in the computed field for xx.vtime make sure the DAT=FREE.

Hope this helps!

Subject: [MEDITECH-L] JCAHO lab inspection...

We were just inspected by JCAHO and received a major violation for not
having the completion date and times on our lab reports.

Can you tell me what everyone has done if this happened at your site ?
This must be resolved within 45 days.

JCAHO inspector said that they need to be able to see from the time the
tests were completed when the treatment of the patient began based on
lab results.

I know so far it is the reports we send via forward advantage to our
physician offices so that would be the inquiry report in lab.

It was not enough that you could click on the order in the EMR or see
the internal inquiry in lab if there was a problem.

The inspector said the audit trails were great but they need it on the
hardcopy.

Since every result has it's own completion date and time , wondering how
this is possible especially with multiple orders on one specimen number.

What do paperless hospitals do for this issue ?

Any help would be greatly appreciated...
