We had a lot of problems with this with our compounded IV's. If the
additive was loaded in Pyxis, it would not print on the refill list, but
it would charge the patient as if it did. I finally had to make
duplicate drug dictionary entries - one that is an additive that is not
loaded in Pyxis and the other that is not an additive and is loaded in
Pyxis. You may need to do this with any of your "loaded" compound
components. Kathy

Subject: [MEDITECH-L] compounded meds

We are seeing a problem with our compounded meds (GI cocktail for
example). If one of the ingredients is in the Pyxis medstation, it
automatically defaults to dispense from Pyxis. If the pharmacist does
not notice this and change the dispense location to the main pharmacy,
Pyxis allows the nurses to pull some of the medications separately. Has
anyone found a fix for this?
