This would be incredibly useful, but the difficulty is in gathering the data. Someone would have to talk to everyone who hosted a meetup to get the data from each organizer, which could be time consuming at best or impossible to get at worst. We could encourage people to put their data in a central location, but again, someone would need to follow up with the slackers who never update it. In other words, I don't have time to do it :) However, I am always happy to take data gathered by other people and include it in the monthly metrics reports occasionally or on a regular basis. For example, I've done a couple of conference spotlights or additional data after major releases as a one-time special addition in the metrics. If someone wanted to gather some data on in-person meetups, maybe every 3 months or 6 months or as a one-time thing, I would be happy to include some of it in the monthly metrics summary report!
