Quim Gil has been pushing for more MeeGo openness, i.e. making sure conversations are on mailing lists and that specifications etc. are published early. See https://bugs.meego.com/show_bug.cgi?id=4898 and the bugs it depends on.
There has been some success in this area, but now that Nokia are reducing the amount of resources they are putting into MeeGo, it worries me that Quim won't be able to keep pushing this for much longer.
