How different are Fedora Perl module RPMs from openSUSE Perl module
RPMs? I've not spent enough time on Fedora to get into the Perl
packaging and repository game - I went straight from Gentoo to openSUSE
in mid-2008.

what Fedora does is not very relevant.

what MeeGo should do is....

For me, we SHOULD do two things
1) Provide a clean packaging standard for CPAN modules
2) Have good tooling to add and maintain such packages

if it is easy for a package maintainer to get notified when there's a new
version on CPAN,
then build a test package, test it sufficiently, and when it passes, push it
into the distro...
... then we have a standing chance of getting really good, current CPAN modules
into MeeGo.

If the process is too manual, error prone and cumbersome, it'll be FAIL instead.
