I see a lot of emails regarding Bugs and Improvements - Meego What is this development or Bug fixing going on ? Are these internal projects by Nokia-Intel Developers ?
There are separate fixes/development going on Moblin and Maemo Projects What is the future plan ? Will these exist after March - when Meego is released ? Is there any specific Business factor to keep both Moblin and Maemo running ahead ? And the most confusing is; With everybody modifying Open Source Base Systems to suit their needs; coming up with their own releases-distributions-applicationDevelopments (Meego-Maemo-Moblin-Android-Others...) How is Meego any better ? - Does it set any Standards for future. The only strong point about Meego is the Intel Connection (Hardware rules now) and a little bit of the architecture ofcourse - Not much different than most existing architectures. How is business impacted by all this? Meego - Free Software; while Nokia and Intel make money selling Hardware Business seems to revolve around selling Hardware - with the key selling point being "Free Super OpenSource Software" example: I start a company; order hardware from Indonesia; Korea, etc(cheap hardware) order Processors from Intel(others - if cheaper); get FreeOpenSource System - Meego(others that suits my needs) Sell Hardware with my name - Ofcourse the software effort was put in by OpenSource Developers - ensure that the software is distributed free. Advertise - the key selling point "The OpenSource Software Applications" Its Kind of confusing where we all are heading; being a software developer and an open source supporter. Hope that Meego will set up a standard for Developers; so that many are benefited around the world All the best; and eagerly awaiting the release of Meego.
