I don't think there's a question here. There will be such a repository. (See 
below on why I think that)

The open questions are:

1) who hosts it?
2) will it be present in the default MeeGo package manager's config?

My opinion is that it should be hosted in the common MeeGo infrastructure (by 
the Linux Foundation), just like the core repository. It should be next to the 
core repository.

But if the common infrastructure decides not to host this, I'm pretty sure the 
community would find some place else to put it.

Which is why I think it should be in the common infrastructure. If it's going 
to exist anyway, then we had better keep it close to the core.

As for the second question, I'm not sure. On Maemo, right now, the Extras 
repository comes preconfigured, but disabled. But I guess that, at the end, 
it's going to be up to the OEMs to decide.
