After reading the thread "N900 questions" I assume that the development of Meego will start from the Kernel level, which Linux Kernel version will be used? Will It use the 2.6.33.1 and it's features for with limited resources devices or some optimized tested version on Maemo or Moblin?
the objective for MeeGo is to ship an "as close to upstream" as possible kernel. like any distro, we obviously will have some "tweak this constant" kind of patches; those arent' too big a deal. we may have some patches for hardware for which the code is on it's way to upstream (already submitted to the maintainer etc) and which are required for some key hardware to work... basically this is time travel to not block work until an upstream maintainer hits a merge window. but there is no big kernel fork where we deviate greatly from the kernel.org kernel. _______________________________________________ MeeGo-dev mailing list [email protected] http://lists.meego.com/listinfo/meego-dev
