Great to see this, Carsten! I know that a number of people on a number of projects on a number of occasions (myself included) have been frustrated by one or more of the items you've very carefully laid out here, so I think this is a constructive, good way forward. > Instead of pointing out how each team is doing it wrong and each and > every problem, it was cooked down to this proposal, so we can have > something to point to when things aren't being as open as it should be > - which is effectively blocking public R&D as intended. Also constructive. I don't think public naming and shaming (at this point) is going to get anything helpful done - a lot of things are still very much in a transitional phase, and some people involved in MeeGo at this point doubtless need a little help to become better OSS citizens. I think setting a public 'best practice' and privately poking people when they don't conform to it will be a good first step. A lot of the reason this might not have been happening as much as is desired so far is down to inertia - at least, I hope this is the reason. ><snip> +1 to everything there. > Please keep responses related to the proposal, don't let it become a flamewar. +100. ;) > Regards, > Carsten Munk > maemo.org distmaster Robin Burchell mob: +447702671419 msn: m...@viroteck.net irc: w00t @ irc.freenode.net twr: http://twitter.com/w00teh lac: http://identi.ca/w00t _______________________________________________ MeeGo-dev mailing list MeeGo-dev@meego.com http://lists.meego.com/listinfo/meego-dev
