Hi Ameya,
 It should be a packaging bug for Ubuntu9.10:
     Modules shoud be installed to "/usr/lib/pythonX.Y/dist-packages",
     but not "/usr/lib/pythonX.Y/site-package".
 I'll fix it soon. Thanks.

 We gitorious git is empty at present, but source code will be pushed when 
ready.
