It seemed as1 751 is using atom platform for mid, meanwhile, it is equipped with ATI gfx card.
That means its gfx card/chipset are not supported by current 'netbook' image, even though you may install successful which is using vesa gfx driver. As for dual booting, of course yes if you can install/run meego 1.0 successfully at any netbook (not this as1 751), but please note meego is using syslinux rather than grub, so you have different method than grub's for config your booting menu and make it effective, meanwhile the current syslinux version in meego does not support btrfs as 'boot' partition, that will be supported by the latest syslinux version, please please also note your partition style if you want to partition manually. Have you tried a live cd/USb pen drive first. Chances are if you can boot up this on your Acer it should install. Others have already tried the dual boot with windows who may give a better (not hard) answer than me. I do not have windows here but I did manage a dual boot with moblin previously and Ubuntu Hope that helps Perhaps let us know how you get on trying a live usb boot ..ie booting from a pen drive and you can see what works ...what does not Andy Bleaden Funding Manager 0161 474 3755 mob:07800 618510 www.stockport.gov.uk/resourceconsultancy -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] on behalf of Dathathreya K Sent: Thu 27/05/2010 11:08 To: [email protected] Subject: [MeeGo-dev] Can I install 'MeeGo v1.0' on Acer Aspire AO751 ? Hi Fellas, I have 'Acer Aspire AO751' http://bit.ly/9fAGdz which is supposedly not supported netbook for MeeGo 1.0. Can I still install 'MeeGo v1.0'? 'Acer Aspire AO751' comes with 'Windows XP'. Can I dual boot? -Datha _______________________________________________ MeeGo-dev mailing list [email protected] http://lists.meego.com/listinfo/meego-dev ********************************************************************** Stockport Council - providing over 600 different services to local people .
