Dear List,

I hope this is a proper forum to bring this up - but I have been
annoyed with the fact that once a phone call is arriving in N900
(currently with Maemo Fremantle) there is a rather large room for
error when you need to take the device out of a pocket or a backpack's
drawer.

Since the UI is immediately ready for touch, you usually make an
accidental press on the 'RED' button and reject the call from the
other party. If you were expecting an important call from overseas
where it is hard to trace or sometimes the number is blocked it
creates a problem as you can't get back to the other party.

Let us note that the 'RED' button is very close to the edge of the
touch scree, so if you pull the device backward from a pocket or a
backpack bag you will most probably reject the call since you have
nowhere else to grab the device with, before you've had a chance to
see the identify of the caller.

I propose we have something like current S60 (for me on the N97
mini) UI for reciving a call in which you have to swipe your finger
over a green button to answer the call, and rejecting is not possible
until you've unlocked using the lock/unlock button which in the N900
is the small slide handle on the side of the device.

If this is nor the place or the Handheld UX team has already solved
this, I apologize for the noise, but if so , please let us review the
solution and think how it will behave "in the field" :-)

Sivan
