1> Please be sure that the wifi link is available and connected to internet there. Mcdonalds wifi net might be a bit different in some areas. Some needs extra authentication, some has DHCP limitation (DHCP ran out of IP pool to give out, ex. default might be 50 on routers)
2> please be sure that your wireless driver works on meego. Which HW/netbook are you using? Please try to use windows or other linux distribution to connect, in order to be sure it's specific for meego and not for all other systems.
