Hi,

I am interested in contributing towards Meego by fixing some of the open
bugs in the Media Player component (Netbook User Experience).
In this regard I have some queries:

1) I have few doubts regarding how to identify bugs that are open and
somebody else has not already started looking into it.

2) If I wish to fix a bug can I edit it and assign it to me? If I do so and
start working towards resolving some bug, how can I ensure that no else has
started working towards it? so that my effort doesn't go in vain.
For example, the bug id: *Bug
3588*<http://bugs.meego.com/show_bug.cgi?id=3588>, I wish to fix this
bug. From the status I could figure out that it's
assigned by default to someone(owner)
and the 'Target Milestone' is not yet fixed. Now can I edit the
'Assigned To' field to myself and start working towards fixing it? If I
proceed so(Assuming that nobody else
is working on it) and when I am midway in fixing it somebody else
says it's FIXED, my effort goes in vain.

3) Suppose if I fix the bug how should I notify to the owner of the
component and how to commit my changes to original source?

Thanks in advance.

Sharavana
