Afaik video calls from N900 running Maemo 5 PR1.2 only use h264 codec, which is patent-encumbered and thus not widely used in free software world. Usually supported codecs from other installs include ogg/theora, which is not available on Maemo 5. I'm not sure what codecs does Meego support, but that may be the problem.
