Hi,

would not a browser built on QtWebKit have a performance advantage over any
stand alone browser since QtWebKit reuses performance optimizations and hw
acceleration in a way a stand alone browser can not do?

Can be important - especially on battery powered devices.

First of all, webkit is not a browser, but a component you can build a
browser out of... the difference is rather huge.

But second of all, while Meego.com will ship a reference browser for each
vertical release, this is absolutely NOT a mandate
that this reference browser must be used; OEMs or OSVs are completely free
to pick a different browser instead.
If you want to use a webkit based browser for your meego based product, you
are completely free to do so.
