Hi,

We have a plan to port MeeGo to a new armv5 based platform. As far as I am concerned, the porting work may include following points:

1.In general, the boatloader can be reused.
2.Clone the meego-os-base->kernel-source, follow the README.workflow to cook our own patch(including the HW specific patch, e.g. flash, MMC) 3.After the kernel porting is done, we can modify the kickstart script to the build our own MeeGo image.

So in my point of view, the key is the kernel porting, because so many rpm packages can be reused between different HW platforms(especially the ARM platform). Do you have any other good ideas about the MeeGo porting? Please feel free to discuss.

how much of what you need in the kernel is already in the upstream kernel?
For the pieces that are not, what are your plans for submitting these pieces, and getting them included?
