Hi List, I'd like to start contributing to the core system, brief googling shows:
[0]: http://meego.com/developers/getting-started So suppose I finished setting up the SDK or development environment I searched to see where I can help, with my experience in Ubuntu this was mainly with: 1) Fixing bugs (top priority when in Feature Freeze) 2) Packaging 3) Implementing new features. Although [0] is alarmingly small, I did not despair, and clicked through to: http://wiki.meego.com/Developers , which is by accident? linked from [0] by the title "MeeGo Tutorials Page". Even if I could google more to find relevant resources for where to contribute (with code and packaging) [0] should have all the info in it or link from it. The current page has nothing to get started with. It would be nice to see matching section for the list mentioned above: 1)List of bugs that the community members can work on. 2)Any new upstream or merged stuff that needs packaging that community can do. 3)Feature proposals for next release after feature freeze open for community participation. This could be complemented by the notion of "mentors". In Ubuntu, mentors were technically able people who helped other become the same. I wonder if we could have this involvement enabling community service in MeeGo? I was not able to infer from [1] if it might serve this purpose as well. [1]: http://wiki.meego.com/MeeGo_Greeters Even a list of possibly low hanging fruits could be nice to have in order to get more seasoned with the platform and along the way contribute to its development. Also, this might be localized to the verticals and sub projects like QA, UX/UI etc. Is there something like this or do we need to start this? Thanks in advance, -Sivan _______________________________________________ MeeGo-dev mailing list [email protected] http://lists.meego.com/listinfo/meego-dev
