Hi Jan-Simon, Thanks for the reply. I downloaded qemu-user-static_0.13.0+dfsg-2_i386.deb from http://packages.debian.org/experimental/qemu-user-static and installed with sudo dpkg -i and it now reports armv7l.

Thats depending on the version of qemu-arm(-static) you use! Try using a really new version e.g. 0.13.
