I suspect that this is an invalid assumption on your part. I bet that
Linpus didn't consider that there was any need to ask for trademark
approval after this change. The interesting bit will be to see what the
reaction will be now that you have (officially) made everyone aware of
this potential trademark infringement.

Also worth noting is that Linpus operates primarily in China, and
trademark protections are not so strong there... is this something to
bear in mind? I don't know. IANAL.
