Hi all, first of all I am sorry if I got the wrong list. I started to play with MeeGo on mywork laptop and I don't install things I play with into / but into ~/install. With the image-creator this is possible with using DESTDIR and PREFIX. This also meansthat I have placed qemu-arm-static into ~/install and this is where the first set of problems starts.
I would like to install image-creator with make PREFIX=$HOME/install/meego and it should install the pythong things, the config files (etc/mic2) into this prefix. Will such patches be supported? On top of this I would like to change the python stuff to search in PREFIX/bin for qemu-arm-static or other things. The second problem, one that I find a bit scary is. I am asked to run the creator as root. On first inspection this is required to play with binfmt, work with the losetup and to silently disable SELinux support. I find this approach very scary. Could you consider asking the user if he wants to switch off the enforcement mode? To summarize. Are there plans to support installing mic-image-creator into non / locations, are there any plans to run mic-image-creator without root permissions? holger _______________________________________________ MeeGo-dev mailing list [email protected] http://lists.meego.com/listinfo/meego-dev
