The meego solution is much more n900 centric and it may very well not work on the devkit8000. You might have to add additional devkit specific patches or similar. Also the meego/n900 kernel causes problems with the bb-xm. It's currently unclear how we'll proceed and if we e.g. undo the migration from the ubuntu kernel to the meego one. Using the meego one doesn't seem to have an advantage despite the fix of the font problem.
