it would be interesting to do a per kB or MB comparison in power
consumption between running the wear leveling and error correction
on a big core, vs uController.

Responsiveness could also become an issue, although most likely
the bottleneck would be in the write speed.

Doing a secure erase basically implies that the kernel must always be trusted.
Same goes for swap.
