Next meeting Thursday 13 January 08:00 UTC (meeting was irregular
today due to public holiday tomorrow Thursday 6th)
Meeting summary
1. Status (Stskeeps, 08:01:47)
1. ARM hardfp: got the RPMs imported into devel:hardfp:base
and got cross compilers running. I've suggested 'armv8el' as OBS
scheduler name for hardfp to Release Engineering. There was a problem
with the Linaro patches in gcc that I had to drop to make gcc compile
on our giant-RAM builders. (Stskeeps, 08:02:22)
2. We're planning on getting dl9pf's speed-rpm into the
submission so we can get Qt builds down to 2 hours of build time and
solve two problems at one time and lessen build load of doing ARM
builds. (Stskeeps, 08:02:27)
3. bt mac issue (BMC#9665): userspace fixed (sysinfod and
udev rules). Still waiting kernel support. I know patches are ready,
but they're not yet in d:d:n900 kernel (ile, tkeisala?) (marquiz_,
08:03:48)
4. wifi mac issue: userspace is basically fixed. But, i'm
still waiting for the ack from legal/business to push the related
packages (libppu, libwl1251, wl1251-cal) to meego.com :(The packages
will be binary only (marquiz_, 08:03:56)
5. wall charger support (BMC#9800): bme submitrequest
(SR#11294) is still pending for some reason. (marquiz_, 08:04:02)
6. : Sensorfw-config package is still missing from the n900
images! (marquiz_, 08:04:08)
7.
http://meego.gitorious.org/meego-os-base/package-groups/merge_requests/7
(marquiz_, 08:04:10)
8. Theorarm patch to libtheora-1.1.1 could provide a slight
boost to N900 video playback performance, see comparison here:
http://www.scribd.com/doc/46256816/Theora-1-1-1-Mergebranch-Comparison
However, Pulseaudio still eats CPU a lot. (sandst1, 08:05:37)
9. sensorfw-config-n900 discussion is ongoing in
http://bugs.meego.com/show_bug.cgi?id=11142 and we've restarted the
autodetection / 'machinename' discussion on meego-packaging@
(Stskeeps, 08:07:05)
10. kernel-adaptation-n900 package (2.6.35.9) in
trunk:testing. Contains e.g. usb charger, omap3isp, camera and omap3
cpu_idle support. (ile, 08:08:04)
11. 2.6.37-rc8 in git tree. Boots up to X. Still missing stuff
(ile, 08:08:16)
12. : libtheora1.2.0alpha boosts N900 video performance by
~20% for VGA video, but the actual 1.2.0 release won't most likely be
out before MeeGo 1.2 (sandst1, 08:11:09)
13. Policy packaging: Policy packaging is ready in
devel:resource:policy and can push to trunk:testing (after PA
downgrade) (kallam, 08:12:34)
14. 1.1.90.0 2011-01-20 -- 2011-01-26 MM3: All planned
features released, Bugfixing for most of features starts after
2011-01-26, Possibility to integrate features that are late --- please
keep this in mind (Stskeeps, 08:12:49)
15. Devel kernel now has the options required by Policy
framework (ohm cgroups plugin) turned on. (tukem, 08:15:47)
16. Camera guys are working with new kernel-adaptation-n900
api's. First still shots with full resolution were made with it. The
current workload is caused by slight differences between maemo & meego
API's around kernel, gstphotography, gstreamer. These make the current
builds unstable. (theodor, 08:16:58)
17. Stskeeps and Sage has been working a bit on the ideas
about hardware adaptation templates as well (Stskeeps, 08:20:29)
18. Camera: as you can see from the still shot
http://www.t3.fi/stuff/img_0002.jpg, there's a bit problem with a
seemingly working stack also. (theodor, 08:20:43)
19. stskeeps's been looking a bit at GPS and there seems to be
no good reason why libisi wouldn't work alongside ofono as it talks to
the phonet interface (Stskeeps, 08:23:05)
20. so a open task exists for those with nokia access to
package up libisi-liblas-location-daemon chain for meego (Stskeeps,
08:23:53)
21. ACTION: open task: DSP codec testing with gstreamer
(Stskeeps, 08:30:36)
2. Any other business (if you have any concerns, discussion topics
that's good to ask when we're all around) (Stskeeps, 08:34:33)
