this has come up several times ;-)
we'll switch to dconf when we can obsolete gconf; hopefully that is
soon, but for me it'd be a worst-case situation if we end up with both
gconf and dconf at the same time. Yes dconf is better, but unless we can
use it to replace the "old bad boy" we're not winning anything by going
to it.
