John, What did you use to setup your local OBS? An appliance image? Are you setting it up on a dedicated box or inside a VM? Are you actually using the IP address of your box or the hostname? Also try adding the hostname that the appliance has to /etc/hosts. The appliance sets up the hostname in the Ruby scripts of the web interface.
