I agree Karoliina-- this makes the most sense for flexibility and 
maintainability.  Should be the default approach IMO.

Basically applet code ---> wrapper ---> control panel (or any other host, 
actually, including the desktop)

Heck, Microsoft managed this with the Windows control panel, so... ; )
