I used "xdg-mime install" to add a new file format to shared-mime-info, the
desktop MIME database.
Then I run "xdg-mime query filetype <file name>" to check this MIME type.

On MeeGO, the output is "application/octect-stream" (unknown stream).
But on Ubuntu 10,0, the output is the proper file type.

I know Ubuntu uses GNOME while MeeGo uses its own deskop system. And I found
"xdg-mime query" use "file" command to get the file type for MeeGo and fails.
I've checked the /user/share/mime/applications and found the xml entry is
already generated for the new file type. And Glib API
g_file_info_get_content_type() can get the proper type on MeeGo. Why "file"
command fails on MeeGo? Could anybody give me some hint?

Here is my xml file for the new file type:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<mime-info xmlns='http://www.freedesktop.org/standards/shared-mime-info'>
         <mime-type type="application/xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx">
                   <comment>xxxx</comment>
                   <glob pattern="*.xxx"/>
         </mime-type>
</mime-info>

Great thanks!
Amanda
