If you want to build (not package) the kernel on Ubuntu... 
you don't need to do anything special.  Just build the 
kernel... then rsync the files to your device, where you do 
the `make modules_install && make install`.

However, I usually build the kernel in a MeeGo chroot/SDK on 
the host PC.  That way if I make a small change on the 
device, I don't have to rebuild the whole thing.
