Just out of curiosity, who exactly needs to agree (or, to put it another way, who disagreed) ? I kind of recall pretty much everybody either agreeing or at least liking the idea at some point (see http://lists.meego.com/pipermail/meego-dev/2010-August/005082.html ) but then the whole thing seem to have taken a U turn somewhere off-list between that moment and the message you linked to.
