We had a great BoF session on the topic of Reinvigorating MeeGo
Netbook. Hirally Santiago Rodriguez took notes for this session and
Gail Frederick was hosting the session.

Here are the notes - thanks to Hillary for sending them to me :),

Introductions:  9 attendees

Informal talk about Netbooks
       ○ Interest in talking about current Netbooks features and
future of Netbooks
       ○ Call to action - industry says that the Netbook is dead and
cannibalized by Tablet - we think there is still a opportunity for low
cost Netbook.
       ○ Should we modernize the Netbook UX?
       ○ Headlines  - Microsoft states Market is Down 40% - but last
headline is with Fujitsu making first MeeGo Netbook
               § Is MS making this statement because the price point
keeps going down and below the price point of the MS OS which is why
they state this vs MeeGo being a free OS creates opportunities

               § Chromium book does everything I want

capabilities, the keyboard on Netbook is smaller even though is

               § Social Aggregation - anyone used it? Why would you
skip over it?

and the panel was not visible
               § Sync Functionality
                       □ We are missing the whole connected device
options in MeeGo - need to be able to connect to the Cloud to get to
my own data and other devices
               § Chat Features
                       □ Notifications did not come in?  The
Specifications for the UI not open so we could not verify
               § Developer - Show stopper bugs to getting fix on time
and response that is not flowing

                       □ Not testing with Live Image
                       □ They were not running same test that the
developer is running to reproduce the bug
                       □ LOTS of regressions
                       □ Kids - uses for his homework, email, social networks

first place that he visits
