What about a vote to see what the people interested in the topic think ?
And as Fathi said, join #meego-packaging and see for yourself before
pushing for a shut down.

Hi,
#meego-dev and #meego are pretty quiet at times, I think I'd rather see
them used more instead for now, instead of dispersing everyone to highly
specialized channels.
It's up to the the community to make #meego and #meego-dev active.
eh? You are the community.
So far, we have ~90 people on these channels and as you noticed, they're quiet.
I prefer to go in a channel with less people but active on a topic I'm
interested in.
If meego-packaging was present and active then I'd say fair enough.
But it's not.
meego-dev is already primarily about building, packaging and policy. I know
because that's where the nokia OBS team hangs out.
And I really think the idea of taking policy and guidelines to a channel with
less people seems rather... counterproductive.
So no, I personally would not support this.
I'm supporting the initiative. Let's give it a try and see if it's useful
instead
of trying to kill it even before it's born. If the channel isn't useful, it
will die by itself.
Please kill it.
