I am currently considering using MEEP to do FDTD simulations on circuit boards generated by KiCAD (kicad.sourceforge.net), but since EM wasnt my strongest subject, I have a few questions :)
First, what I want to do: I want to take PCB geometries (especially the high speed digital lines) from the CAD files and input it into the structures used by MEEP to simulate for crosstalk and signal reflections on the lines (think DDRII and DDRIII at 400MHz).
Are MEEP actually the right choice for this kind of problem (I think so!)? Do you know of any other project (OSS) that might be better suited to my problem? Or even technical articles that discuss this subject.
Next, the various signal sources should be fine (square waves), but can we add passive components, such as capacitors to this whole simulation? And how can we handle signal termination? If I have an impedance for a pin, can I spesify a "current-sink" for this?
Thanks for your patience, much appreciated.
