Dear Meep users,

Meep version 1.0.2 is now available from the Meep web page (ab- initio.mit.edu/meep). This release corrects some superficial failures in the 'make check' test suite. It is not necessary to upgrade unless 'make check' was failing for you and you were concerned by this.

(Thanks to Silviu Popescu for reporting the problem -- it turned out to be a rather subtle phenomenon where the same operations with different array lengths were producing slightly different results due to differences in compiler optimizations and their impact on floating- point rounding, and this was confusing our test programs.)

Steven

Meep 1.0.2 (2 June 2009)

  * Correct superficial 'make check' failure on 32-bit x86 machines
with gcc 4.3.x, due to slight impact on floating-point rounding
by automatic SSE/SSE2 vectorization; thanks to Silviu Popescu for
    the bug report.

  * Correct superficial 'make check' failure when compiling under icc.
