Hello,
For a scatterer consisting of multiple lossy slabs, there exists an
analytic solution. For normal incidence, the Ez and Hz results are
identical.
I computed the scattering from such a structure with meep, and compared
the results to the analytic solution.
Depending on my choice of source polarization, I got better or worse
error convergence:
Ez
Resolution Max Error (over all freqs)
150 0.0586
300 0.0352
600 0.0259
1200 0.0176
Hz
Resolution Max Error (over all freqs)
150 0.0586
300 0.0175
600 0.0061
1200 (not computed)
This isn't related to subpixel smoothing; if I disable that I get
similar results.
Is this reasonable?
Kind Regards,
Matt
